MELA Resurfacing without peeling

The unique pHformula powerclayTM  formula use in MELA resurfacing treatment is a powerful hyperpigmentation treatment designed to reduce the accumulation dark spots (melanin) located near the surface of the skin (epidermis). It effectively inhibits the enzymatic activity of tyrosinase, while stimulating epidermal differentiation and accelerates epidermal cellular turnover causing removal melanin pigment. Due to the highly effective mode of action, significant visible results are obtained with minimal risk.

pHformula’s A.G.E. 1,2 and 3 solutions are active and effective skin resurfacing treatments specifically for the signs of ageing, such as photo-ageing, pigment changes, a dull or sallow appearance, and superficial and medium expression lines. A superior delivery complex ensures the penetration of active ingredients, – including retinol, to regulate cellular differentiation and provide a powerful anti-oxidant; mandelic acid, shown to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; lactobionic acid to assist in wound healing; and pyruvic acid to stimulate collagen.

How does the treatment work?

The success of the M.E.L.A. range is based on pHformula’s unique combination of Salicylic, Phytic, Mandelic, Azeloglycine and Lactobionic Acids plus the PH-DVC, a superior delivery complex used to facilitate the penetration of the active ingredients down to the basal layer of the epidermis where the melanocytes, the pigment forming cells are generated.

The unique pHformula M.E.L.A. powerclay has different strength levels (1, 2 and 3) formulations design for all skin type to penetrate deeply into layers of the epidermis to stimulate epidermal differentiation which leads to accelerated cell turnover causing the removal and reduction of already formed melanin pigment.

What can be achieved?

Significant visible reduction of UV induced hyperpigmentation and similar conditions. For optimum results, 4 – 8 treatments are recommended depending on the type and depth of the pigmentation. Treatments are structured between 1 and 4 weeks apart depending on the M.E.L.A. level used.

Is there any downtime?

None that interferes with your social life, slight redness, temporary dryness and mild shedding or flaking may be experienced post resurfacing treatment for up to 5 days, this is minimised in appearance with the use of the pHformula Post Recovery Range.

​Post Treatment Advice?

As with all treatments, daily application of sunscreen and moisturizer is recommended.
