Brief info

Dr. Koh Khai Luen graduated from International Medical Universiti (IMU), Malaysia with Distinction in his final MBBS examination. Following his housemanship training, he began his general surgery training at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun Ipoh, Perak. He obtained his Membership of Royal College of Surgeon (MRCS) from Ireland during his training as a medical officer. Subsequently, he further his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery after he was accepted into the Master of Surgery (Plastic Surgery), Universiti Sains Malaysia programme. Upon completing his training in year 2018, he underwent gazettement as a Plastic Surgeon at Hospital Kuala Lumpur. Within the next year, he managed to obtain a short attachment at Shanghai Ninth People Hospital, China in the area of Head and Neck Reconstruction.

Throughout his career, Dr. Koh has performed various complex reconstructive surgeries for head and neck tumour, sarcoma limb preserving surgeries with flaps, cleft lip and palate surgeries, burns surgeries and craniofacial surgeries for congenital deformities. He has special interest in fat transfers for scars, stem cells and regeneration for skin rejuvenation, vascular anomalies, body contouring surgeries and Oriental eyelid surgeries. He always shows enthusiasm in his work and passionate for his patient’s care. He is known for his ability to communicate in various languages and dialects with his patient and has good interpersonal skill with his other subordinates.

Dr. Koh has published numerous papers in international journal, speaks at various local and international conferences. He is a trainer for the Master of Plastic Surgery candidate at Hospital Kuala Lumpur and he has organized various courses at local and national level i.e. Microsurgery course, Flap Dissection Courses, National Paediatric Symposium. He is also a well-known public speaker where he speaks on various plastic surgery topics in television health channel.
